The new role as Regulatory Manager Vitamin Well USA will be pivotal in ensuring compliance across our portfolio of functional foods and drinks, including our flagship brands, Barebells and NOCCO.
The successful candidate will manage all regulatory areas for the US business including risk assessment, government registrations, ingredient assessments, labeling reviews, and other regulatory requirements to ensure our products meet all applicable standards.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
Regulatory Strategy and Communication:
- Develop and implement regulatory strategies that align with business goals.
- Communicate regulatory requirements and changes to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to teams on regulatory compliance matters.
Quality Assurance and Risk Management:
- Identify, quantify and manage potential regulatory risks throughout the product lifecycle.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance.
Ingredient Review and Compliance:
- Evaluate ingredients for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Ensure all ingredients meet the safety and regulatory standards applicable to functional foods and drinks.
- Collaborate with R&D and quality assurance teams to address any ingredient-related issues.
Labeling and Packaging:
- Identify suitable labelling claims, nutritional information, and allergen declarations, and ensure such is well documented.
- Review and approve product labels to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with marketing, legal, and operations teams to ensure regulatory compliance across all stages of product development and launch.
- Stay updated on labeling regulations and ensure all products reflect the latest requirements.
Government Registrations:
- Identify, oversee and manage the submission of required documentation for regulatory approvals.
- Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to registration statuses.
- Liaise with government agencies to facilitate the approval process for new and existing products.
Global Regulatory Trends:
- Monitor and analyze global regulatory trends and changes that may impact the company’s products.
- Develop strategies to adapt to international regulatory requirements and standards.

You are a proactive, business-oriented professional with a strong commitment to regulatory compliance in the food and beverage industry. Your expertise in navigating complex regulations and aligning them with business goals sets you apart. Your clear communication and guidance make you a valuable asset to any organization.
With extensive experience in regulatory affairs and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, you effectively manage regulatory risks and ensure compliance throughout the full product lifecycle, from development to market launch. You thrive in dynamic environments, contributing to the growth and success of brands like NOCCO and Barebells.
Skills and Qualifications Desired:
- Experience: To succeed, you bring over 10 years of experience in a regulatory management or equivalent role, rooted in strong expertise in the food and beverage industry.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of federal (FSMA, CGMP, NLEA, and DSHEA) and state-specific regulations, including California Proposition 65 and local product naming rules. Familiarity with Health Canada regulations is a plus.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to analyze complex regulatory requirements and translate them into actionable strategies that drive business success.
- Proactive Problem-Solving: You anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions to ensure regulatory compliance and mitigate risks.
- Strong Teamwork Skills: Whether leading a project or collaborating with cross-functional teams, you inspire excellence and deliver results.
