The Senior Manager, Commercial Finance is responsible for ensuring that all NOCCO and Barebells customers fall within the profitability framework outlined during the onboarding of the customer. This person is responsible for understanding everything regarding pricing, off-invoice deductions, and promotions for each of our retail and distribution partners. This role will act as a liaison between Finance and Sales with direct and regular interaction with management including our Sales Directors, CEO, and Finance team.
In your first year with us, this is what you can expect to be doing:
Analysis
Review available commercial reporting/ data and implement reporting processes that:
- Provide relevant commercial insights that inform the business on the effectiveness of sales & marketing efforts.
- Support tracking, booking, and analysis of all customer rebates and billbacks for all core customers in the United States.
- Allow for a detailed review of all proposed deals for new customer onboarding, and drive the necessary steps needed to continually track and report profitability ensuring sufficient ROI/ profitability potential exists.
- Provide data-driven metrics and custom presentations to key stakeholders to communicate and support findings, recommendations and collaborate on informed business decisions.
Forecasting
- Create a financial model of future revenues, costs and cash flows based on the external and internal factors and conditions.
- Make regular predictions about the company’s expected future to help to enable faster, and more confident, business decisions.
- Provide modeling of other P&L related analysis related to FP&A activity including but not limited to freight and distribution costs, proposed price increases, and overall business operations.
Financial Planning Processes:
- Partner with Leadership and Stakeholders on Sweden based teams to use available data and insights that help set the company’s short-term (1-year) and long-term (3-5 years) objectives.
- Drive Budgeting and business planning activities to ensure investments align with business strategy and aligned KPIs.
- Allow for accurate monthly reporting to cover all variances regarding our planned budget against actuals as it relates to customer profitability.
- Participate in the discussions of goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the progress on the strategic and operational levels, make recommendations on how to improve performance or processes as needed.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- 5-7 years of finance / FP&A related experience in the CPG industry (preferably food and beverage) with strong Excel modeling skills.
- You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where decisions are made at pace to ensure every opportunity is optimized.
- You approach each problem with speed, but with a constant eye on the future and what each decision means at scale.
- You will not be discouraged by issues, rather excited to find solutions (both immediate and long-term). You enjoy building effective partnerships and relationships that drive brands forward while standing the test of time.
