In New Zealand, we have made our entry with Barebells. To support continued growth, we are looking for a TikTok- and Instagram-native who instinctively understands our brands, tone, and what resonates locally — driving on-the-ground content creation, local community building, and platform-native storytelling to scale our presence over time.

About the role
Based in Auckland, this role as Social Media & Content Coordinator is focused on growing Barebells in New Zealand, with scope to expand across additional brands as the business evolves.
This is a hands-on role centred on creating, coordinating and publishing social content — bringing our brands to life across TikTok, Reels, and Instagram. You will work closely with our distributor partner while owning content creation and day-to-day execution locally, building and growing our presence with support from our APAC hub in Singapore and the Global Social team in Stockholm.
We are open to shaping your engagement with us based on your availability and fit. This role will probably start part-time and suits someone who is already working or engaged in our world — for example within fitness, sport, or content creation — and wants to build something alongside that.
In short, your responsibilities will be:
Create and produce engaging short-form content for TikTok and Reels (filming, editing, posting)
Be out in gyms, events, and local communities capturing real, in-the-moment content
Adapt trends and formats into brand-relevant videos and stories
Work with local creators, athletes, and ambassadors to generate authentic content
Engage with the community through comments, mentions, and UGC in a natural, on-brand way
Keep content consistent with campaigns, distributor activities, and global brand guidelines
Track what performs and continuously adjust content based on results

Who you are
You are a creative, energetic, and digitally fluent communicator who loves bringing brands to life through social media. You understand what resonates locally, know your way around TikTok, Reels, and Instagram, and enjoy creating content at the intersection of sport, lifestyle, and culture.
You have a strong sense of what feels current on social and what does not. You prefer content that is simple, fast, and native to the platform over anything overproduced or slow.
You are organised, proactive, and comfortable owning the full content flow — from planning a shoot to capturing and publishing content in real time.
Essential skills to succeed
1–3 years of hands-on experience in social media or content creation
Comfortable filming, editing, and publishing short-form video using CapCut or similar tools, and being on camera when relevant
Confident collaborating with creators, athletes, and community partners
Genuine interest in fitness, sport, and active lifestyles
Organised, reliable, and able to work independently in a fast-moving environment
Based in Auckland with the right to work in New Zealand
